Leighton Meester

Dear readers, 

I would like you to meet one of my greatest examples: Leighton Meester. I think she is a gorgeous young woman, who appears quite normal. Let me clarify that. 
Leighton is probably best known for her role in Gossip Girl, which is by the way a television series I really like! According to my opinion she had to "compete" with Blake Lively, who was the most beautiful girl in the show and who was the center of attention. But for me it is Leighton who really stands out. She's a natural beauty. I think she's also a classic beauty but there is something special about her. Sorry I can't really explane, but what I'm trying to say is I just love her!

Really simple and natural. She's so beautiful!

I love the drama in this picture caused by the heavy make-up she's wearing, accentuating both the eyes and the lips. I also love the jacket she's wearing.

The dress she's wearing is beautiful and edgy, the dark make-up and the few accessories are lovely, and the scene is exquisite! Everything is perfect in this picture!

This picture is so special! I admire the hairstyle because it's so different and oldschool, and I think not just anyone can pull it off. That in combination with the styling makes this a gorgeous picture!

This is again a photo full of drama, because of the out of bed-hairstyle and the many jewels. 

I love it! 

I would like to say goodbye with a genius quote of Leighton Meester herself, that in my opinion really suits me:

Being a model

Hi everyone, 

Sorry it has been so long since I posted, I had 2 very busy days! 
Monday I had so much fun at the shoot! We did it at the new place of Pascaline , which was just over the top pretty! She had many white walls so it really was the perfect location for a first simple shoot. 
We didn't really use the inspiration I had found for the shoot, because we actually used lots of my pretty clothes I normally wear. The next time, when we have more time for preparation, we can pick an outfit and a location and stick to it.
With the make-up we kept it very plain. For the first time in my life I have bought foundation and powder and I love it! It looked actually really nice on me. So in the end we used foundation, powder, blush and a bit mascara.

This is one of the first pictures that was taken. I think my eyes really stand out with that blouse.

This picture is pretty vage in the area around my face, but that's the reason why I like it so much. It has a very cool effect. I also love the combination of the necklace with the denim shirt!

I just love the furry hood of the jacket! This is a must-do outfit!

This is personally one of my favorites. My posing at the other photos was simple and normal, but my pose at this picture is the most modelish (if that's a word). I also like the emotion in my face. 

Because this picture is so pure, it's also a top votegetter. It's so uncomplicated and clean, that's why it's so charming.

I would like to end this post by showing my appreciation to my lovies Charlotte, May and Pascaline (from now on I will call her P, because that's how I call her in real life and it's actually very strange to say Pascaline..). Charlotte, thank you for being there, for the moral support and for keeping me relaxed with your gorgeous smile! May, thank you for your caring, for making me pretty and for being my friend. Inspiration

Hey lovely readers, 

Today I have been searching for some inspiration for the shoot. Because we didn't have a lot time to prepare, we need quite easy and casual looks. This is what I came up with:

This first picture is very edgy. I like her hair and make-up, especially the liquid eye liner. We could do it ourselves so it's definitely a winner!

This look is quit simple and easy to wear, that's why it's perfect for the shoot. I love the combination of a simplistic, moderate jeans with a baggy, cozy sweater. I also like the accent on the lips.

I love love love denim! As you have seen in my previous post I have a more darker denim shirt myself and I would love to wear it in front of the camera. Because denim is a bit hard I like to combine it with clothes that are more softer, like the skirt in the picture. I really love this look!

Building my confidence

Hello peeps, 

Because I was so excited about the photoshoot next monday I thought it was a smart idea to practice a little with posing and getting used to the camera. It's the first and for me the most important step in becoming a model. 

As a model you have to be confident because, admitt, we all know self confidence means attractiveness. So if you don't have any self esteem, build it. You do this by practicing poses in front of the mirror, by taking a lot of pictures of yourself. I always thought people who did this were being stupid, but now I understand them a little more and I also think the difference between taking a lot of pictures of yourself and publishing so many of them on social networks has to be emphasized. 

I could describe myself as a fun, social person when I'm around friends and family, but when I'm in unknown situations and with unknown people I can be a little shy. This is because I really have low self esteem. I have had it all my life. It may not seem like it, cause I hide after a Elien who does have a lot of self confidence, but actually it's the opposite. That's why for me modeling is also a way of learning to be confident and satisfied with the person I am on the inside and out.

So to build my self esteem I have done a little photoshoot of my own. In my search for the perfect outfit for the shoot on monday I tried on some garments. I also must warn you that I didn't wear any make-up and I simply put up my hair. Hope you like them!

My very first photoshoot

Dearest readers, 

It has only been 2 days since I started my blog and started working on my dream. Now I proudly anounce that my first real photoshoot is going to take place ... next monday!!! 
I'm doing the shoot after class with my very best friends Pascaline, Charlotte and May. They all have a great sense of fashion so they are going to help me with my styling, hair and make-up. I'm going to borrow my sister's professional camera to take the photos. Then the only thing that's left to do is to find a proper location in Leuven. 
I could've never hoped it would be happening this soon. I am delighted! It's really happening! I'm so looking forward to it!

So the journey begins...

Dear readers,

The best way to get started is probably by introducing myself. My name is Elien Simons, I am 20 years old and I currently study Communication Sciences at the University of Leuven in Belgium. 
I'm starting this blog because we have to make a creative project for English class. But for me it's more important. I think this is the perfect opportunity to pursuit my dream I have had since I was a child. 
From very young age I have had a dream: to become a model. Ever since I postponed it, but now 20 years later time is shortening. 
So I'm starting this blog to push myself in becoming a model.
